The initiative is part of a broader strategy to protect public spaces and reduce the visual and social impact of illegal writings and drawings on buildings. According to the local administration, unauthorized graffiti negatively affects residents’ quality of life and their sense of safety.

Subsidies of up to 30,000 crowns for graffiti removal

At the core of the program is a system of financial subsidies designed to support the removal of graffiti from building façades. The Prague 7 municipality will cover costs of up to 750 Czech crowns per square meter of treated surface, with a maximum annual cap of 30,000 crowns per applicant. Public funds may be used both for cleaning vandalized surfaces and for subsequent maintenance work.

Who can apply and which buildings are eligible

The subsidies are available

to property owners,

homeowners’ associations

and housing cooperatives located within the Prague 7 district.

The program applies

to residential buildings,

garages

and warehouses facing public spaces.

In addition to spray-painted graffiti,

the funding also covers the removal of illegal stickers,

posters

and signs,

which often contribute significantly to visual degradation.

Application deadlines and submission process

Applications for the anti-graffiti subsidy will be reviewed in two annual rounds. The deadlines set by the municipality are May 31 and October 31, 2026. Applicants may submit multiple requests throughout the year, provided they do not exceed the maximum amount allowed. Each application will be assessed by the local authority to ensure effective and transparent use of public funds.

Safety and prevention: the municipality’s strategy

According to Prague 7 officials, the rapid removal of graffiti is one of the most effective ways to prevent further acts of vandalism. Mayor Jan Čižinský (Praha Sobě) emphasized that persistent graffiti tends to attract additional illegal activity. For this reason, the program also encourages the application of protective treatments on façades, with the goal of reducing repeat offenses and preserving the district’s building heritage over time.

Source: Novinky

Prague 7 launches an anti-graffiti campaign to protect urban decorum The Prague 7 municipal district has launched a new anti-graffiti campaign aimed at tackling urban…

[93

post-62013","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-blog
["GET
